So. I recently got my first smartphone (I know, I know. Late to the party.) and I LOVE all the wallpapers with cute little characters and bright colors. It's like the people who made them took a peek inside my brain, into my weird little thought-world. I've never seen an illustration that came so close to matching what I see in my head. I've always, always wished that I could become a good enough artist to be able to put my ideas on paper and have them look the way I want. But...I have minimal talent in the drawing arena.
So when I saw these wallpapers a light went on in my head. I've been interested in learning how to create my own vector art since then.
So I installed Adobe Illustrator on my husbands tablet PC, and looked up my first tutorials. I was on my way!
The first tutorial I completed was a really great starter. It's a tutorial on how to create a cute little gang of vector ninjas. You can find it here. It was a really great intro into the Illustrator tools.
